Susan West announced that there is still room for more participants in the 125 club - $100 donation to the Rotary Foundation and $25 to the Polio fund.  You will have your choice of a bottle of Irish Whiskey or Vodka.
 
Roberta had a couple of announcements
  • We are still collecting toiletries or donations for the Dublin Food Pantry. Food can be dropped off at the Pantry and donations can be made through the Columbus Foundation.
  • We are still collecting coats through October 31st that can be dropped off at David Bentz’ home.
  • Roberta still has a few 2021 calendars left. Her cost is $11 and she selling them for $25, $13 of which will be donated to the Rotary.
 
Speaker Bio
 
We were honored today to have Dr. Praveen Dubey as our speaker.  Dr. Dubey is vice president of OhioHealth Cancer Services. He is a board-certified radiation oncologist and has been practicing in Columbus for over 20 years. He is also an MD Anderson Cancer Network® certified physician.  Dr. Dubey graduated medical school from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed an internal medicine residency at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and a residency in radiation oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He and his wife of 25 years live in Upper Arlington and are very proud of their two daughters who are both currently pursuing careers in medicine.
 
Presentation Summary
 
Dr. Dubey gave a very comprehensive overview of the Vision for OhioHealth Cancer Care. Their vision statement includes collaboration with physician partners to expand their services and geographic reach to become “Ohio’s Preferred Cancer Care Network”. 
 
Ohio Health currently has service in 33 locations in Central Ohio. One of their primary goals is to “Deliver the right care in the right place”.  Based on their strategic plan, they are currently in Phase 2 (2019 – 2024) consisting of the expansion of programs and footprints.  Phase 3 (2025+) will include more analytics and infrastructure. They are partnering with MD Anderson in Houston, Texas to achieve certifications and best practices.
 
They are in the midst of a comprehensive assessment to identify

  • Patient Experience
  • Facilities and Technology
  • Overall Patient Quality
 
Dr. Dubey briefly discussed Bone Marrow Transplant and the MD Anderson relationship.
 
They are in the process of constructing a 30,000 square footprint in Dublin Cancer Center across the street from Dublin Methodist hospital which is scheduled to open in May 2021.  They are partnering with Columbus Oncology to provide oncology services at this facility.
